So now Barack Obama is about ready to become the 44th president of amerikkka. Forgive us if we don't get caught up in the emotional whirlwind that has accompanied his election among many African people worldwide. We always have to remember the words of Kwame Nkrumah when he said that revolution is not sentimental, its scientific. What this means is the world today is controlled by multi-national corporate interests and every captialist political party is in bed with those interests.
There are 54 countries in Africa. There are dozens of African dominated countries in the Caribbean and South America and there are a number of other countries throughout Europe, amerikkka, and Canada, that have large numbers of African populations. Many of those countries have "black" elected presidents or prime ministers. People like Obasango in Nigeria, Mbeki in South Africa, Mugabe in Zimbabwe, Madam Johnson in Liberia. The last 30 years has seen a number of African heads of state throughout the world including some of the best we have had to offer like Nkrumah in Ghana, Ture in Guinea, Cabral in Guinea-Bissau, Bishop in Greneda, and yes, we say Mugabe in Zimbabwe. We have also seen African heads of state who represent the worse scum in human history like the Duvaliers in Haiti, Mobutu in the Congo, and Conte in Guinea.
In many of those countries, the masses of people suffered as badly, if not worse, under the so-called "Black" head of state than they did during colonialism. All one has to do is study the history of The Congo and Guinea for clear examples. During Ture and the Democratic Party of Guinea's tenure in Guinea from 1958 to 1984, Guinea was a poor country, but no poorer than she had been during colonialism. What Guinea did have during that 26 year period was its dignity and self determination. It had a plan to build an independent country where the potential of its vast bauxuite reserves could be channeled to serve as a vehicle to improve the quality of life for the people of Guinea and Africa. The country had a dream to develop and build an African infrastructure built around scientifica socialism.
During this 26 year period and ever since, Ture's regime has sustained ongoing criticism from imperialism about repression of dissidents who remained in Guinea and/or fled to other parts of Africa, France and amerikkka. People seem to forget that African self-determination and Pan-Africanism with state power is only 60 years old. Many mistakes may have been made, but the fundamental premise of diginity was real during Ture and the PDG's tenure. Since 1984, Conte has steered the country in a direction of slavery to the imperialist corporate interests who develop bauxite to make aluminum products. The intense repression on the people of Guinea has forced the people to resist. The massive strikes by bauxite workers have placed the country on virtual standstill for the last several years. This is the reality in the African world today, in spite of the overwhelming presence of "Black" presidents.
Obama's presidency will be beholden to the same imperialist interests that Conte in Guinea is committed to. People like Obama and Conte serve as the national spokespersons for imperialism and Obama by virtue of being president for the world's imperialist leader, will be the chairperson of imperialism in 2009.
This explains why in spite of his slick verbiage, you haven't heard a peep out of Obama about the disparity of sentencing that targets African, Indigenous (Latino), and other poor people. You haven't heard a peep about the oppression of women. You haven't heard him say anything about how he will address institutional racism. He has lectured Africans about self responsibility, but he hasn't said anything to white amerikkka about its arrogance, privilege, and unearned benefits at the expense of the world's populations. He hasn't talked about any of these things because those things aren't going to be on his agenda. The only thing on his agenda is keeping amerikkkan capitalism at the top of the international economic scale. This is of course problematic for the masses of Africans since capitalism is the source of the problems we and all poor people face today.
So, not only are we not on the Obama bandwagon, but we call on all critically thinking people around the world to continue to organize against globalization, which is nothing, but imperialism. We call on everyone to organize for true justice which is actually socialism which will only come through socialist revolution and transformation, not token representation in a system that works against our interests.
We know many of you will refuse to listen to this logic. The nostalgia and emotional high is too much for you to overcome. For you we can only say, as we said to those Africans who felt as you felt in South Africa in 1994 when Mandela was elected, that we will talk to you in a few years after the euphoria falls away. Today, SOuth Africa has been almost completely privatized since the African National Congress and Mandela came to power. The privatization has created unprecedented unemployment and a lack of social services that has made South Africa a crime ridden state very similar to amerikkka. This is all since 1994 and the dismantling of apartheid. We know, some would argue this is some sort of progress, but we know its really just transforming the methodogy of capitalism and imperialism to make their control more palatable.
We want justice and self determination! Not tokenism. We want Pan-Africanism and scientific socialism! Not token advancement for a few under capitalism. We must not be confused and distracted. We must continue to organize as never before! Even Al Queda is knowledgable enough to know that Obama is a slave to capitalism and should not insult the honorable memory of true African patriots like Malcolm X!

R U an amerikkkan patriot?
Our answer is hell no! We owe amerikkka nothing! In fact, those people who are confused enough to love amerikkka should get down on their hands and knees and thank whatever God they pray to that we have taken as long as we have to organize for revolution and permanant change.
All of the imperialist's ridiculous arguements about why Africans should be patriotic towards amerikkka are so weak these arguments wouldn't hold up in Judge Judy's courtroom. First, they say that the amerikkkan military has fought for our freedom and thus we should show gratitude by honoring amerikkka. No war has been fought by amerikkkan for African freedom and independence. If you believe that we would like to sell you the Pacific Ocean. The amerikkkan revolution was fought for the benefit of the rich white male landowners. Africans were enslaved during this time so it's absurd to argue that this war was for our benefit.
The civil war was fought to industrialize amerikkka for capitalist development. The slave system was inefficient and undesirable for the rich capitalist landowners who wanted to mechanize production so its foolish to argue this war was fought for us. The only reason slavery was eradicated was so the justifiable African determination to end slavery could be exploited by the amerikkkan government to enlist us as shock troops against the confederate.
WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and every other military conflict amerikkka has been involved in, including Iraq I & II, were all fought to advance U.S. imperialist interests and had no direct or indirect corelation to African freedom, which still doesn't exist. As recently as Vietnam, Africans fought courageously against our allies in Vietnam only to come back to amerikkka and face naked racism and discrimination.
The gratitude we should have is for our organizations who have struggled against our oppression. We thank the Free Africa Society, Niagara Movement, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Universal Negro Improvement Association, African Blood Brotherhood, Moorish Temple, Nation of Islam, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Congress of Racial Equality, Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, Revolutionary Action Movement, Black Panther Party, Republic of New Afrika, US Organization, Convention People's Party, National Congolese Movement, Democratic Party of Guinea, Zimbabwe African National Union, African Party for the Independence of Guinea-Bissau, Worker's People's Party, etc., etc. These people struggled and sacrificed for our liberation. We should always honor them. As for the amerikkkan government, all branches of the amerikkkan military, police agencies from the federal level on down to the local level, we say later for you. The only thing we owe you is the bad experience you have given to us and a promise that we will organize ourselves and take back what rightfully belongs to the people and all of humanity!

How does revolutionary change happen?
Most people if asked would say they want to live in a society where everyone who needs a quality place to live would have access to such living quarters. They want children to have the opportunity to go to quality schools that have educational material that is honest and dedicated to opening the student's mind and expanding their capabilities to their full potential with the objective of encouraging that student to use their educational skills to further advance the collective society. They want elderly, ill, and all other people to have access to comfortable, respectful, medical and care conditions 24/7. They want a government that is dedicated to upholding social and economic justice and not private profit at all cost. Most people if asked would say they want all of those things, but many people don't understand that these things cannot happen in a capitalist society where the prime objective is private profit over people's interests.
People's needs can only be met within a socialist society where the society's resources are planned and organized around fulfilling people's needs. Where women are respected. Where elderly people are honored. Where children are nurtured. Where all people's cultures as taught and respected and where human dignity is the primary objective.
Of course, we can't have revolution without revolutionaries. Revolutionaries must be created through consistent political education and work in service of the people. That's why revolutionary political education is so important. So often, you hear people say "I'm tired of talking about the struggle" These people that say this don't understand how revolution happens and/or they really don't want revolutionary change. They may be satisfied with some reform of the capitalist system i.e. a few people getting college degrees that generally wouldn't get it, a few token African advancements. A few token women advancements, Asian, Indigenous, etc. Revolution is not about tokenism. Its about mass advancement. As a result, it cannot be carried out by the few impatient people who do not have the discipline and commitment to work tirelessly to bring about the required political consciousness to make conditions ripe for revolutionary change. Revolution involves mass movement under revolutionary political ideology with action springing from that revolutionary ideology.
Although we love and honor the heroes of the 60s and 70s, we recognize that although the bold and courageous act of Johnathan Jackson, William Christmas, Rachell Magee, and James McClain in August 1970 to take over the Marin County courthouse in support of George Jackson and the Solodad Brothers was an honorable attempt, this act is not an example of a "revolutionary" act. Revolution cannot be carried out by a few people. It must emanate from mass political education.
Although we honor, admire, and love Ernesto Che Guevara, we understand that his "foco" theory of creating an armed struggle in the jungles of Bolivia in 1967 with the hopes of inspiring the Bolivian people to initiate a revolution lacked the type of scientific planning that is necessary to create revolution. Revolution is science, not sentimentality. We honor and seek to emulate Che's bravery, but we also must learn from his errors.
So the All African People's Revolutionary Party will continue to talk to as many people as we can about revolution. We currently talk regularly to people about revolution in 8 states in Africa, in Europe, and in several states in the U.S. and the Caribbean. We talk to thousands of people about revolution regularly and we ask them to get involved and organize wider discussions about revolution. We ask them to help build relationships with other organizations of other nationalities who also struggle for revolutionary change. We ask them to help us institutionalize projects and activities that promote revolutionary consciousness. The current phase of our struggle is one of creating a revolutionary culture among the people's of society.
It is in this spirit that we inform you of a regular political education process for those who live in the Portland, Oregon area. The All African People's Revolutionary Party is organizing the "Don't Let School Interfere with your Education" presentation and discussion series. Remaining sessions take place each Thursday from 6pm to 8pm in Smith Memorial Union room 333 on the Portland State University campus in downtown Portland, Oregon. The remaining sessions will take place on April 24, May 1, and May 8th.
The next session is Thursday, April 24th The topic will be on "Why Africa is poor and the U.S. is rich?" We will discuss how western imperialism has robbed Africa of her human and material resources and this explains why Africa struggles today for any level of independence and self determination.
Also, please be informed that African Liberation Day is a day of revolution. This day will take place on May 24th in 2008. The All African People's Revolutionary Party will be hosting African Liberation Day commemorations in several cities around the world. For more information about any political activities, please let us know. Join some organization working for justice!!!
